Sleepy Hollow FAQs


Q. How many people can sleep in the cabin?
A. Six people can comfortably sleep in the cabin. If you need to sleep eight, there is a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room.

Q. Are all the bedrooms on the same level?
A. No. The cabin has a huge finished sun basement complete with a large full bathroom. The basement serves double duty as a master suite with a queen sleeper and a plush futon. Extra privacy is afforded and the room has cable TV and a VCR.

Q. What is the kitchen equipped with?
A. Everything you need to create a simple snack or a gourmet meal. All utensils are provided as well as dishes, pots and pans, and assorted Tupperware and bake ware. There is a refrigerator-freezer with automatic ice maker, microwave oven, electric oven and stove, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a host of kitchen gizmos and gadgets. If you don't want to cook indoors, a gas grill is conveniently located in the backyard.

Q. Do I need to bring sheets or towels?
A. No, sheets, blankets, and towels will be provided.

Q. Do the towels get changed daily?
A. No, when you arrive there will be plenty of clean towels. However, if you run low, a washer and dryer are available for use during your stay.

Q. What supplies will I need?
A. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toilet tissue), laundry detergent, napkins, paper towels, and paper plates if desired. For your convenience, liquid dish soap and plastic garbage bags will be provided.

Q. Is the fireplace wood burning or gas?
A. It is a wood burning fireplace, logs and instructions for use will be at your disposal. Feel free to purchase your own wood or duraflame (artificial logs) or use the wood on the premises for a charge of $10.00 a day. If you are not adept at lighting fireplaces the duraflame logs are highly recommended

Q. Are there any steep drop-offs that would be dangerous for children? Is there a yard for play?
A. The cabin sits on over half an acre of gently sloped wooded property with plenty of open area suitable for play and exploration. Of course children should be supervised when playing near the creek.

Q. Do I need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the cabin?
A. No, there is easy year-round access. A short drive on a state maintained paved road off Hwy 19 leads to a gravel road; the cabin is a very short distance down the road.

Q. Do you permit pets?
A. Sorry, pets are not permitted.

Q. Is smoking allowed in the cabin?
A. No, for the comfort of all guests smoking is only permitted outside of the cabin.

Q. Am I able to make long distance phone calls from the cabin?
A. Due to a block by the phone company, long distance calls will require a calling card . You will be unable to make collect or operator assisted calls.  Cards  can be purchased from most convenience stores.

Q. Why should I choose Sleepy Hollow over other cabins?
A. Privacy: It's one of only 3 houses on the block. Location: Just 1 mile from Ghost Town in the Sky and and the access road to the Cataloochie ski area . Many shops and restaurants are also close by. Charm: Natural wood and country decor blend to create a warm cozy atmosphere. The Creek: Natures perfect melody, listen to the soothing sounds of the rushing creek right on the property.
